Curious about what Severn Christian Church is like? We center everything around Jesus. Forget about feeling shame, guilt, or judgment here. Your appearance and background? Irrelevant. We're a diverse group, each with unique life stories.
We are a community of imperfect people pursuing a perfect God. Perfection isn't our goal; completeness in Jesus is. We're a redeemed family, part of Christ's church, eager to share His message of salvation.
The best part? Your past or questions about faith don't matter. You'll find Jesus' love, grace, and forgiveness in abundance here.
What this means for you: Come as you are. You don't need to be perfect or worry about opinions. At SCC, you'll find a community of acceptance and love. Remember, Jesus loves you, and so do we.

What we believe at SCC about Jesus, the Bible, and the Church.
We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to shatter the power of death and assure us of our own future resurrection. We believe that Jesus will return one day as He promised and that He will take His church to be with Him for eternity in heaven.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word and the only book inspired by God. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe the Bible teaches that God is the Creator and Sustainer of human life; that God creates each person in His image; and that life is, therefore, sacred, from conception to natural death.
We believe that God creates each person as male or female, that these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the "image of God" in humankind, and that each person's biological gender is an intrinsic, immutable aspect of his or her nature and identity.
We believe the Bible teaches that God established marriage in the beginning as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman; that He has reserved sexual intimacy as an expression of love and commitment between married couples; and that any intimate expression of sexuality outside of Biblical marriage is sin.
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
We believe that we are forgiven of our sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit when we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, repent of our sins, confess Jesus as Lord, and are immersed in Christian baptism (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 22:16). It is then that we become Christians and are added to the church of Jesus Christ.
We believe that the church is the body and that Jesus Christ is our head. We believe that assembling together as the church is a Biblical command (Heb 10:25). We meet together to encourage each other in the faith, to help each other, to pray for each other, and to be equipped for good works through the preaching of the Word.
